ABOUT EXPERIENCE HAMPTON

Experience Hampton, Inc. (EHI) was founded in October 2010 by a small group of Hampton business owners and residents with a simple goal: bring back the town's Holiday Parade. The community response was immediate. More than 50 volunteers came together and the first parade rolled down Hampton's streets on December 4, 2010 — and it hasn't stopped since.

In the years that followed, Experience Hampton grew into something larger. Today EHI is a state-approved 501(c)(4) nonprofit governed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from Hampton's business and civic community. Our mission is to organize, promote, and manage events and projects in Hampton that improve quality of life and support economic vitality for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

That mission has taken many forms over the years. In 2015, EHI completed its first major infrastructure project — the transformation of a pedestrian walkway connecting the municipal parking lot to Lafayette Road next to Greg's Bistro. The project included new brick paving, a stone wall, LED lighting, and the installation of the iconic "Experience Hampton" arch that still marks the entrance today. It was completed through a public-private partnership involving Kennebunk Savings, the Town of Hampton, Parks and Recreation, the NH Department of Transportation, and multiple local contractors — the first completed project of EHI's broader 2020 initiative to transform Hampton's downtown corridor into a walkable, vibrant community destination.

Since its founding, EHI has produced 15 Annual Hampton Holiday Parades, brought the Stanley Cup to Hampton for a town-wide celebration, coordinated 10 years of the Flags and Flowers program distributing American flags at the Memorial Day parade, and advanced downtown economic visibility projects that have improved the look and feel of the community for residents and visitors alike. EHI also hosts the annual Experience Hampton Golf Tournament at Pease Golf Course, sponsors community events including Hampton Beach Key West Days, and supports ongoing beautification efforts including community banners and the Welcome to Hampton signage project on Route 1.

Through its charitable giving program, EHI has supported a broad range of local organizations and causes, including the American Legion Post 35, Winnacunnet High School, Hampton Academy, the Hampton Historical Society, Hampton Recreation Department, Friends of the Lane Library, St. Vincent de Paul Food Program, Hobbs House, Hampton Community Coalition, Hampton Village Preschool, the Hampton Police Association, Hampton Firefighters, Wreaths Across America, and the Hampton Beach Village District. EHI also administers the Desi Scholarship Fund, which provides annual awards to graduating Winnacunnet High School students, supported in part through the annual Desi Evening fundraiser. Additional revenue supporting EHI's charitable giving is generated through its charitable gaming partnership at Hampton Beach.

Everything we do is run by volunteers who believe Hampton is worth the effort. If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to have you.
